2025학년도 수능 영어 문제의 특징은 2024학년도 수능 그리고 2024년 6월, 9월 학력평가 문제로 보면 대강 예상할 수 있다.
우리가 주목해야 할 변화의 추세는 예전엔 지문 내용과 영어 문장 구조를 어렵게 해서 난이도 조정을 했다면 이젠 지문 내용은 보다 쉬워지고 단지 선택지를 교묘하게 만들어 놨으며 그 선택지를 유도하는 핵심 문장들이 한 문장으로 집약된 예전의 문제 유형도 여전히 존재하지만 핵심 문장들이 곳곳에 놓여 있고 반드시 이것들을 종합 할 수 있어야지만 문제를 소화 할 수 있다는 것입니다.

Values alone do not create and build culture. Living your values only some of the time does not contribute to the creation and maintenance of culture. Changing values into behaviors is only half the battle. 위 문장에서 위 3 부분이 음영처리가 된 곳이 핵심 부분이며 이것을 통합해서 선택지를 골라야 실수가 없습니다. 그래서 1번과 5번 선택지의 차이는 " 명시적 지침"입니다. 본문에서 "playbook"이 여기에 해당하죠.

특히 빈칸지문 유형은 논리추론 유형으로 본문 내용을 충분히 숙지해야 할 뿐만 아니라 빈칸지문을 정확하게 이해하고 본문 핵심과 반드시 연관을 지어야 하며 핵심 단어들이 어떻게 다른 단어로 바꿔 말해지는 지를 추적할 수 있어야 합니다.

위 문장을 읽으면 핵심 내용은 디지털 시대에 정보의 보전을 이야기 합니다. 그래서 선택지 2번 storage로 함정에 빠지는 학생들이 많습니다. 기존 문제풀이도 그래 왔습니다. 그러나 빈칸 지문을 이해할 때 "디지털 시대에는, 매체는 ______의 일부는 아니다." 여기서 medium이 physical carrier 로 대체되어 가는 것을 반드시 알아야 합니다. 그래서 디지털 시대는 아날로그 시대처럼 " [상식] 도서관에 책이라는 실제적인 매체가 있어야 하는 것 처럼과는 다르게 정보를 물질적인 없이 정보를 저장할 수 있다는 내용입니다.
그래서 정답은 3 번 message가 되어야 하면 message 는 본문 속에 information로 대체된 것입니다.
