Virtual tours allow you to explore college campuses at your own pace, typically with useful features like 360° views and student-narrated audio/video. In fact, you will often see and learn much more during a virtual tour than is possible through an in-person tour, given the size of many campuses and the time constraints of a visit to the admissions office. For each school on our list, you'll find one or more virtual tours that take you around campus and into academic buildings, residence halls, and athletic facilities.01of 26Boston Collegegregobagel / Getty ImagesDespite its name,Boston Collegeis not located in Boston. The 175-acre main campus in Chestnut Hill sits a little over 6 miles from downtown.
Gifted and Talented test OLSATThe OLSAT assesses a student's cognitive (e.g., verbal, nonverbal and quantitative) abilities that relate to his or her academic success providing educators with invaluable information in order to enhance insights gained from traditional achievement tests.2. GogatThe CogAT Test measures the level and pattern of cognitive development of a student compared to age mates and grade mates. These general reasoning abilities, which start developing at birth and continue through early adulthood, are influenced by experiences gained both in and out of school.3. NNATThe NNAT measures general ability by assessing children in two specific areas: nonverbal reasoning and problem solving. Both items are thought to be key indicators of long-term academic success. Administered by testing giant Pearson, the test is given to students between the ages of 4 and 17. There are two types of Gifted Talented programs:District GT programs give an Admissions Priority to students who live in a particular district. These programs are offered within district elementary schools. Students in these programs take GT classes together in major subject areas but may share other classes with students who are not in the GT program. GT Test score needed to apply: 90 or aboveCitywide GT schools accept students from all boroughs and give no Admissions Priority for any district of residence. Every student in these schools is enrolled in the school-wide GT program.
